Role Summary

Provide friendly and responsive service to create an exceptional dining experience for all guests. Uphold and improve upon all service standards of Menus and Venues Food & Beverage

Role Responsibilities

    • Welcome and greet all event guests 
    • At all times, be courteous, gracious and accommodating with all guests and act as an ambassador for our brand, on and off location 
    • Assist on larger events including weddings, festivals and fundraisers including set up and/or breakdown and/or transition  
    • Guide Vendors through onsite set up and breakdown, monitor adherence to vendor rules  
    • Under the guidance of the Event Manager, providing clear and prompt communication with guests acting as a point person the day-of the event 
    • Maintain close communication with culinary team to keep abreast of changes in guest count, timeline, allergies, etc. 
    • Work closely with the BOH during Expo Shifts 
    • Work closely with guest of honor/bride/special guest/other to ensure a smooth event that lives up to the reputation of terrain Events  
    • Under the advisement of the Event Manager, delegate tasks to event staff to adhere to event timelines, proper use and care of event rentals and completion of staff side-work 
    • Responsible for facilities and reporting closing procedures as outlined by Event Manager 
    • Monitor the inventory of event supplies and report into Event Manager, place orders through proper channels under advisement of Event Manager 
    • Ensures health and safety measures and liquor laws are obeyed, particularly those prohibiting service to minors and intoxicated persons 
    • Notify management of any patrons exhibiting behavior of visible intoxication 
    • Communicate all guest and employee issues to manager on duty  
    • Be ready and willing to assist fellow employees as situations arise

Role Qualifications

  • 1-2 yr. experience of event catering, coordinating or comparable experience in hospitality  
  • Excellent oral and written skills 
  • Exemplary customer service skills  
  • Comfortable under pressure, professional conflict management and flexible yet steadfast in the face of a changing environment 
  • Assertive and organized with the ability to tackle tasks as needed as they arise throughout an event 
  • Strong understanding of the Terrain Brand and core values 
  • Strong understanding of portfolio of Menus & Venues Brands 
  • Calm and clear communication skills  
  • Ability to work in a standing position for extended periods of time (up to 10 hours)  
  • Certified in alcohol handling (TIP/RAMP Certification)
